Mini-Camps are fun! Kids participate in the full array of farm life activities, with lots of time to play and explore our small animals; mice, snake, chickens, rabbits, ducks and turkeys, explore the haymaze and ziplines, go on a hike or piddle around the garden. Everyone has the option to ride a horse. Our horse riding is great for beginners and anyone afraid of horses. The foundation of our riding program is called the CRAFTS of Partnership: Communication, Respect, Acknowledgement, Friendship, Trust & Setting Good Boundaries. Your child has the option of Horse Immersion to spend most of the day around the horses through Horse Immersion $10 additional fee. Our animals are always at work empowering the children to have higher self-confidence and to get beyond the natural fears that come up in learning something new and in being outdoors in Nature and around animals.
We offer Mini-Camps on Teacher Work Days, Intersessions, & School Holidays. You can sign up for just one day, a week or the whole school break. Advance registration is recommended, but drop ins are welcome!
We offer Before (7:30) and After care (to 6) if needed and an additional riding lesson from 3:30-5:00 on Mini camp days. Visit our Horsemanship Pages
for other riding lesson options.
We also offer a special family discount of 25% off for Mini-camps only on the second child.

Q: Do campers in the standard camp get to ride horses?
A: Not always. It depends on the number of campers and the staff available at the time. We encourage you to sign up at the time of registration to ensure your child a spot.
Q: What does my child need to bring?
A: Please send your child with TWO snacks, their lunch, and clothing appropriate to the weather forecast for the day. Spence’s Farm does have a limited amount of inclement weather gear for use by children who forgot to bring theirs.
Q: What about bad weather?
A: Spence’s Farm operates in all types of weather. Even when schools close because of a storm we’re still running.
