Summer Camp

We have been a dependable summer camp choice for the Triangle for nearly 40 years. Our focus is on building life skills on a working farm in a natural environment. Our campers get to have real life impact on our animals, garden and nature around them.

Our youngest camp program is our Rainbows, designed for rising kindergarten to rising 3rd grade. Campers are in groups of 8-12 campers with 1 mentor and 1 assistant mentor. Rainbows ride horses, go swimming, help in the garden, make crafts, care for chickens and bunnies, and much more!  Rainbow groups stick together with their group and Mentor/Assistant Mentors for the majority of the day.

Trailblazers is our camp for rising 3rd grade to rising 7th grade. Trailblazers will do their morning classes in groups of 6-8, including Horse Riding, Farm-to-Table, Farm Hands, Hiking, and Creative Expressions. After swim time and lunch, Trailblazers will be given their choice of various elective classes, including horseback riding, nature walks, chickens and bunnies, forts and ziplines, woodshop, and more. Elective options change daily! Trailblazers will spend time in groups that vary depending on the activity that they are in. The Mentors vary by activity.

Horse Immersion (rising 3rd grade and up) is a great opportunity for more experienced horse lovers. In addition to honing their riding skills, Horse Immersion campers learn how to care for horses and the meaning of Partnership with Animals. During the heat of the day, they take a break from riding to do fun, horse-related activities. They have lunch and swim with the Trailblazers, and get plenty of opportunity each week to explore other areas of the farm. Horse Immersion is limited to 8 campers each week.

*Please note that to sign up for Horse Immersion Camp your camper must be able to ride their horse independently at a trot with other horses and be at least 8 years old. This camp is for more experienced riders.

Our Junior Mentor Program is for rising 8th grade and up. Teens who demonstrate leadership skills and find meaning in working on the farm and with younger kids are welcome to apply to be a Junior Mentor (JM). After a period of training, JMs are given the shared responsibilities of assisting Mentors lead rainbows and/or trailblazers, and helping with general farm tasks (such as feeding the bunnies).

Special events just for Junior Mentors are held on a regular basis.
